The main things I learned are that: (1) LC algo Qs are helpful for introducing programming to novices but doesn’t directly translate to tangible SWE skills esp when working on a large codebase, and (2) the SWE role is far from simply coding as it requires fleshing your engineering ability in designing a scalable system/product for a diverse set of users (at least for my team at MSFT).
