These particular devices are simple to get into. The M570 now sports an adjustable laser sensor, giving you a wider range of cursor speeds—and the perfect amount of control. 12 years ago I use a microfiber cloth moistened with a squirt or two of my monitor cleaning solution. I just got my logitech M570. If they are really gunked up even after you've tried to clean them, you might try a very light oiling. You won't need all the king's horses to put the trackball back together again, just your fingers. If you do need to remove the tiny receiver, just tuck it away right next to the battery. Actual wireless range will vary with use, settings and environmental conditions.
Plug it. I didn't have a q-tip at the time so i made a q-tip knock-off using two tooth picks and a cotton ball.The steps are fairly simple. I use a pencil eraser on mine, works like a charm.
You can just pop the ball out by pushing a pen, etc. Thankyou so very much for this guide. I have tried alcohol and window cleaner and found what works best for me is giving the ball and bearings a good wipe with a clothes dryer sheet. Just pop out the ball and clean it and the rollers inside the hole. Kool!!
Please use a more current browser to view our site. The quickest 'cleaning' to do for these (ie: in between CS:S rounds) is to pop out the mouse ball, you'll see three little white 'nipples', clean the gunk off those, pop the mouse ball back in and keep playing.

I've been told that the gunk you can see in the pictures is dead skin cells, but wh… The mouse’s trackball comes with the Logitech Unifying receiver, which stays in the user’s laptop—so there is no need to unplug the mouse when moving around. Is there any way to lubricate the bearing to make it roll smoother? Are they roller bearings or are they some sort of PTFE/delrin plastic on plastic? if you don't you might break the sensor or scratch the window. This is basically what I've been doing and it's worked well so far.

Get the red trackball from the M570 predecessor the Trackman Wheel and use it in the M570, it works a lot better/smoother.
on Introduction, Always good to see a fellow trackball man. The bearings seem to be tiny ball point pen sized bearings, probably made with delrin. Yes once the little plastic bearings will clog and cleaning them will help but that isn't the root cause of the issue you're probably having. I Think ill add a "quicke clean" step later but yeah, thats obviously much easier and quicker.
Hard tables, comfy sofas and lumpy beds are all no problem for the M570. Get the red trackball from the M570 predecessor the Trackman Wheel and use it in the M570, it works a lot better/smoother.
Now, pop the ball back into the socket and your done. Instead, pop the ball out, and carefully pick up the gunge from the bearings with a fingertip or cotton swab. it won't let me edit, just wanted to say I'd recommend oiling the mouse and the bearings with a paper towel with a few drops of oil on it, I used olive oil, works like it should have, so smooth. on Step 6.

I just kinda tap my mouse on the arm of my couch (I have my computer on a table next to my couch) and the ball pops out, I clean off the metal balls inside with my shirt, then I roll the ball in my shirt to clean it off, it has very simple steps, doesn't require anything other than a shirt or the trackball. I'll be waiting...Okay first we have to remove the trackball from the mouse body, to do this, flip over the trackball mouse and locate a hole that looks at the trackball. i cant stress enough the GENTLY and CORNERS. You're going to want to clean it out and do a proper job later on obviously, but this at least keeps you playing without having to go AFK for to long. So why is the M570 not smooth?
