battleblock theater cutscenes script

This is Derek Lieu the cutscene animator for BattleBlock Theater here to talk about, well, cutscenes! Then I had to figure out what kind of lighting I wanted for each moment and when to transition. Since the release of BBT, Newton 2 has come out which has a full joint system that eliminates the need for this cumbersome technique. Then I was free to interpret his pitch by coming up with my own ideas for how to make the cutscenes really funny. What fantastic wonders would they discover this time?!?

AND THEN LIGHTNING!! I hope this is useful for you in any way. The expression lets you adjust aspects of the animation like how much the object overshoots your keyframe before bouncing back, how long it takes for the animation to come to a stop, how wide the bounces are etc.  CARELESSLY SPRINKLING FRIEND AFTER FRIEND INTO THE COLD UNFORGIVING ABYSS OF THE DEEP DARK OCEAN By Treehero. Hundreds of friends!! But the eye of the storm is very misleading children. During the “HELP US” moment I increased the number of friends being emitted so it would look like the shaking of the boat caused even more friends to be thrown overboard. Here are the basic shapes for the friends in BBT, attached to the boat via ball and socket masks which will get interpreted by Newton. After the boat animation was done, the friends were “attached” to the boat and the physics engine plugin Newton was used to animate the friends. I also had to create a rig for Reginald so that his head and hat would flop around, but make sure that everything stayed attached.  YEP THERE IT IS!! Light, shadows and motion blur makes it more realistic and adds depth! The way Newton works is that you link objects by creating masks that resemble ball and socket joints for each element you want to simulate. And join forces to find an island made entirely of candy!! Click "Expand" to read it, Good evening boys and girls, ladies mmmm tk-tk and a-gentelmen. Here you can see how the plugin translates the masks into objects which will then be used for the physics simulation. Fortunately, with more practice I was able to make the After Effects projects more efficient to the point that each cutscene could usually be rendered overnight.  AND EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING LIKE, "HELP ME!!" Also particle systems and physics plugins helped create even more effects to bring life to the crazy story of BBT. do you want a piece to react dynamically to the movement of other layers? Derek Lieu first joined us in 2012 to help with our Kickstarter video for the Necromancer figurine. Transcripts for pretty much all narrator dialogue. Ladies, Mmmmm tk tk, and gentlemen. But it didn't matter, as long as they were together!!  Once upon a time there was a boat. But it wouldn't be very lady-like of me if I didn't mention the most note-worthy friend on board: Hatty Hattington WAZCHOOOOO-WAZCHOO-WAZCHO!! Who knew?!? First of all, the layers had to be converted to 3D layers and offset in 3D space so that they could cast shadows on objects behind them to really give it depth and make it look more realistic.

It is triggered after the first cutscene, which can be viewed below. WAZCHOOO-ZCHOO!! Well, now you can with this cutting edge guide! Before production started on animation, Dan and Will Stamper came up with the story beats for each cutscene. As for Hatty, his animation was simply parented to the boat animation with a slight offset so that he didn’t stick rigidly to the boat. TWICE AS BIG!! AS IF POSEIDEN HIMSELF EXTENDED HIS HAND IN FRIENDSHIP AND THEY SPAT IN HIS MOUTH!! Read on!

Battleblock Theater. Credit to Anarchist_Zeta of the website eliteskills.com for taking the time to sit though and type the entire cutscene. There was smiles to be had and adventures to be shared!! Do you have what it takes to be a Castle Crasher? AND THE WIND!! Perhaps they would find an island made entirely of candy!!

Newton generates HUNDREDS of keyframes based off the physics simulation. If I had to do it all over again I would’ve worked much more efficiently and maybe it wouldn’t have taken a week to render the whole thing out at best quality (yes, a WEEK!)  AND THEN HATTY WAS ALL LIKE, "HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS!! What Newton allowed me to do was only animate the boat and have the friends react to the motion dynamically with convincing physics.
