u/stater354. Unsane uses its plot, fantastic lead performance, and visual representation, to firmly plant itself in an uncomfortable land to play with the audience. For me to mind a plot-hole it needs to tick two boxes : A) It needs to be fundamental, as in "the plot cannot happen unless we buy into this thing that doesn't make sense;" and B) It needs to be stuck in a movie that I find overall not very entertaining. I guess that's what some people do. However, when you get out of your way to create a character that isn't super sympathetic, it's not the best idea to expect us to care a lot about what's happening to her, there needs to be something more (for example : a very charismatic villain) otherwise we're told "her mother was murdered," and we're just... "okay...".
