I have had quite a few for comparison purposes. I literally encountered nothing negative with people in employment or otherwise while at this place for two days. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve had any strange or unexplainable hotel experiences.

The Biltmore has a great (albeit pricey) bar that has amazing staff: tonight I had a great bartender Xiaomara that inspired me (through amazing friendly service) to share the quality and friendliness of the customer service at this hotel. But before we get to the latter, let’s set the scene for our own Hollywood story, and share why this iconic hotel is actually one of the most important cultural landmarks in Hollywood (despite being located in downtown L.A.) Some 3,000 guests—including some of the biggest names in Hollywood, such as studio head Jack Warner, Cecil B. DeMille, Mary Pickford and then-starlet Myrna Loy—descended upon what was first known as the Los Angeles Biltmore on Oct. 2, 1923, one night after it officially opened, for a seven-course dinner, with music provided by seven orchestras that spanned its glittering ballrooms. Pre-check in experience with an incompetent reservations team was very unsatisfactory, and I was dreading my stay based on this, but was actually pleasantly surprised with the high standard of service demonstrated on arrival. From the over the top architecture full of griffins, murals and curlicues, tons of party rooms, ball rooms, event spaces and a lobby just this side of heaven, this place is one of the most romantic spaces LA has to offer. All in all, this place seems like a barrel of spooky that couldn’t be passed up. My only concern about this hotel are the rooms itself because they are pretty basic and you can totally hear the outside traffic and noise because the hotel still has the original windows from 100 years ago I think. On the other hand there is Mr. Miguel who never smiles, if you ask for anything his only reply "no". That is so strange! I wouldn’t recommend for a family. I also read somewhere that the staff or people who work nearby all knew it's haunted.

The public areas of lobby, bars etc are magnificent, and the rooms are comfortable (if noisy, due to no double glazing and traffic sounds). She definitely felt uneasy. But not for us. Cheers. My friend woke me up in the middle of the night as she said I was shouting in my sleep. My gf, on the other hand, might need a little convincing…. I would say we were extremely impressed with service at check in. Overall it was a very gooved stay! The property is beautiful, no doubt, but also a little wistful, as if the hotel itself wanted to step back into time, into its glorious, golden, star-studded heyday.
