You shouldn't be in this much discomfort after several days. I am hopefully seeing my dentist soon. I too agree that there is too much discomfort at this point. Get a second opinion because that is the best thing to do if you have lost trust in your dentist.

did your dentist check the bite? it might be a case of a dentist needing to look at how your whole mouth works together (occlusion) and not just single teeth in isolation.
